Marks and Spencer
Apr. 3rd, 2007 07:16 pmI'm seriously impressed by what Marks and Spencer are trying to do on the environment and sustainability front. It isn't perfect, and I could pick a few holes here and there, but it's still a major step forward.
What they are doing.
Just sticking to sustainably caught fish is impressive on its own, without all the effort they're making to reduce landfill and carbon emissions.
(The state of the world's fish stocks is terrifying, so terrifying that I was too depressed to post the link I was reading this morning. To put it in a nutshell, some major fisheries are already damaged beyond recovery, and others have subsidised fisherman frantically trying to catch what little is left.)
