Everybody loves a wedding
Jul. 11th, 2004 02:01 pmIt may sound crazy, but I actually have something to look forward to. I phoned David (Rosalie's partner) to pass on some useful information
lexin and
grumpoldusenaut had given me and he told me that he and Rosalie had decided to get married (which apart from any romantic consideration will improve his position re benefits significantly, as widdowers can claim allowances for children that unmarried bereft fathers don't qualify for).
He actually sounded happy, and he said Rosalie was in good spirits too.
He's an amazing man. He has an incredible ability to remain unfazed through the worst of events. (though it's possible he's able to keep going while Rosalie is alive, and will crack under the strain once she's gone) One thing I am totally confident of though: his sons have a father who will give them all the love that they need. I've seen him with his boys - he's a man who really relates well to children. They may be losing a mother, but they couldn't have a better dad.
I'm assuming weddings can be arranged quickly if there is desperate need for haste. I certainly hope so.
