I've been using Picassa for my photos for a long time and I really love it, but the software is no ,longer supported and I will have to abandon it eventually.

I need something, ideally with online backup that will keep all my tags and face-recognition.

However, the online systems that I've looked at don't support face-recognition - I believe this is for privacy reasons.

My older family photos of my parents and grandparents are pretty useless unless the faces are tagged as the next generation won't know who they are.

Does anyone have recommendations?

Google photos is a bit of a pain.  Mainly because I can't figure out how to show photos from there in my journal.   This is a link to a photo of the world's most adorable 3 year old (barring any three year old grandchild of your own, of course) that may work photos.app.goo.gl/vsyZ1q0s7rYB4dg82

but I can't see a way of embedding the photo (I think I could do it in Facebook, but I don't want to do it in Facebook).

This is an attempt to copy a photo in a shared album

and this is an attempt to use the image address as embed media.  Both attempts are done after double clicking on the photo in Google photos, as this seems to give a new page with different options.

Can you see both photos?
