I'm not a big fan of SF art - not in the sense of actually going out and buying it, though there is much that I enjoy looking at.

However, I saw this particular picture at Interaction and again at Contemplation and it fascinates me.

The annual super-soaker fight between Hitch-hikers fans, Blake's 7 fans and anyone else crazy enough to turn up will be on August 25th.

Mark the date in your diaries.

The 'rules' are as follows.  Turn up at Wareham station (that's in Dorset) by midday.  Let me know in advance (a day's notice is fine) if you're coming as I try and arrange lifts for those arriving by train from those arriving by car.  I also try and spread the local people between the cars as it's easier to find the way to the quarry if you have a native guide.

Bring stout footwear, as the ground is uneven and you'll be fighting in the dark.

Bring water containers as there is no tap at the quarry and you'll be carrying your ammunition from the car park.

Bring a towel or a dry t-shirt or both.

Bring a super-soaker.

Bring a pack lunch.

Bring a friend.  (you don't have to be a member to come along)

No torches or artificial light of any kind.

Note for ZZ9 members - 12 noon, NOT 1pm.

There are no 'teams'.  Once in the caves, you can shoot whoever you like - alliances tend to be fluid and rapidly change.

We always have a great time - we nearly always get glorious sunshine.  The fight lasts several hours and you can take breaks in the neutral zone to dry out now and then.  The view out to sea is fantastic.

Anyone wanting to stay overnight is welcome to crash at my place afterwards.
