Alliance and Leicester rant
Jul. 5th, 2006 11:15 amSometimes, there can a thing as too *much* security. There were some good suggestions a couple of days ago for remembering numbers, but sadly they aren't of much help in this case.
I cannot change either my company ID (long random string which has nothing to do with my account number) or my log on ID (fairly easy to remember string derived from my name) and both my password and my authentication password (they want 2 passwords every time I use the account!) have to be mixed alphanumeric and different.
Four strings to input every time I access the account is just too much hassle. I'll just stick to the old fashioned paper version. If the account wasn't saving me a hundred quid a year, I'd quit it, but the old business account didn't have usable online banking either. (Orbital 2008 uses Barclays which gives free accounts to clubs and societies and has somewhat simpler online banking that I can cope with)
