Duleston Head
Jun. 17th, 2006 09:26 pmHad a very pleasant afternoon/evening walking with
waveney and
exalted_mugwump on Durleston Head. We haven't done nearly enough of the Dorset coastal path.
It was exactly what I needed: relaxing and enjoyable in the company of some of my favourite people. Relaxing both mentally and pyhsically.
I'm still going barefoot. A whole week now, though with one lapse of half an hour a day or two ago.
The effects are interesting. I'm a lot more confident on my feet now, with a lot less need to look exactly where I'm going. The brain is processing the path further ahead now. I can run down a slope and be confident I won't fall or tread on anything nasty.
Having just done a long walk, I find that the soles of my feet are tender (the path was faily gravelly at one point and there was no grass verge there), but my feet ache far less than they would normally after a long walk.
Saw a bee orchid while we were out. They're a lot smaller (only 1cm across) than I expected, but very pretty.
