Wildlife and Auctions
Jun. 5th, 2006 08:27 amHad a very busy day yesterday with
waveney at a big Springwatch event on Southampton Common. Lovely weather, loads of people and a lot of new members for the Hampshire Wildlife Trust.
I met one gentleman who wanted to buy the cuddly toy fox on my stand. It wasn't for sale (I just have a few wildlife toys there for kids to play with while I'm talking to their parents). He then offered to trade it for the cuddly toy he'd just won in a raffle. I said I couldn't, ask a cat, no matter how nice, isn't a British native species (Before anyone objects, Wildcats have very different colouring from this one). He seemed like a nice guy, so I mentioned that I was running a charity auction/raffle next year for the Woodland Trust and Asthma UK.
I now have a cuddly cat for the raffle! And two BBC Springwatch t-shirts...
If anyone else would like to donate stuff for the Redemption charity auction or raffle, just let me know. SF related is best, but nice toys and ornaments are welcome in addition to photos, works of art, costumes, signed items, etc.
