I've been following up on my rogue charity collector and she's starting to look very dodgy indeed. The charity she was supposedly collecting for has recently changed its name (and she wasn't using the new name). They didn't send her. The fund-raising organisation she claimed to have been sent by don't cover that kind of event (and their web site backs them up - they're mainly involved in promotions like charity parachute jumps).

I'm not the only person worried by this. The people she claimed to work for are wondering if someone else is ripping off their name and potentially wrecking their reputation, and the charity in question are not happy either (they've suffered from rogue collectors themselves and wouldn't wish it on anyone else).

Just for the record, she was collecting for Domino (which is now the Wessex Autistic Society) and she said she had been sent by Skyline (which doesn't do street collections). If anyone knows of another charity-related organisation calling itself Skyline, then several people would like to know about it...

I'm beginning to suspect that she was keeping the money herself.
