Cotswold JIg

Every year at Sidmouth Folk Festival, they hold a jig competition.  A jog is a traditional dance (either solo or with two people) that is far, far more knackering than it looks.

I remember watching Emma dancing with a morris team a few years ago, and asking if she was entering the competition.  She's really a brilliant dancer.

She almost floats on her feet!

If she hasn't got a considerable amount of dance training behind her I'll eat my hat! Very skilful.

She does! Did she win a place - she deserves/d to.

Very different from the Irish jig I was taught at a ceilidh on Skye by an Irish tourist.

Oh, my word - she really does float! That takes dancing to a whole new level!

I had to miss Sidmouth this year, but I definitely want to go next year. The jig competition looks amazing.
