I liked it, and it manages the atmosphere very well.

 

Might possibly work for those not familiar with the series.

It does work; I don't know the universe at all, but I got the gist of it -- the various code-name agents, or whoever they are, have different powers, and hers is manipulating time. I wasn't clear whether there was an alien entity out in the garden, or just a human experience that had got itself locked into the doors somehow -- or why the murder was causing reflections of different time periods.

The 'agents' are supernatural beings. You're quite right about their different powers and Emerald manipulating time.

The series doesn't really deal with aliens. Nor does it go into precise details of how supernatural things work - it's sort of wibbly wobbly timey wimey. Time is fluid and things can leak from one time to another if not taken care of.

I think you hit it on the nose with the experience that locked onto the doors and the murder reflecting down time.
