life with coronovirus around

 And the virus lurches on....

Many thanks to everyone who sent good wishes - I'm too wiped to thank you all individually.

Richard's pretty much recovered now (he started on Xmas day, he's always been blessed with a good immune system).  He's not 100% but he managed a load of laundry, a batch of dishes and changed the beds.

I have the best husband!

I'm past the worst, but I'm still very tried - I lay down for a rest mid-afternoon yesterday and woke at 7:30...

If you're unlucky enough to get Covid,, my two top tips are:

1.  If you don't want to eat (and I ate nothing at all for the first day and a half, and am still eating far less than normal), remember to add a rehydration mix into your water if you can't tolerate milk, etc.  I got a bit bit dehydrated in spite of lots of water.  Now I'm making sure I get some sugar/salt as well.

2.  Muscle pains.  In my case at least, these seem to be connected to to a high frequency shiver.  Even if you don't feel cold, get fully dressed into bed, put on the electric blanket if you have one, and you'll find it helps.  The heat seems to ease out the shiver and helps relax the sore muscles.

Oswin is still being a trooper! Her uncle Henry got her an issue of the Children's National Geographic magazine and she devoured it cover to cover, articles, activities, silly little free gift, the lot.  Kept her going for an entire day!

She helped Grandad make the beds today, and is basically being as good as gold.

I'm still having difficulty talking, as my throat is horribly sore. Today's bonus symptom is earache...

Carrie's mum has it worst of us all - haven't told Oswin that....

Was looking for something from the Qu'ran for a story featuring a Muslim character I'm getting ready to post; along the way I found this which seems to fit here.

DUA FOR HEALING……….HADITH SAHIH BUKHARI 71:638

I have two different translations; one bought when I was a teenager; the second about four years ago. I'm not a scholar; just find this one and the one I chose for the story beautiful and bringers of peace.

Just trying to express what I am feeling in as simple a way as I can.

I recall; feels so very long ago, but it was only about eighteen months, briefly talking to a Muslim woman who was part of a group handing out free copies of the Qu'ran as part of peace and unity thing; there were some Jews there as well, may have been a united group dealing with Israel/Palestine I can't recall that too clearly. Anyway she asked if I would take a free copy, and was quite surprised that I already had two copies. I mentioned reading it when I was a teenager; think I said seventeen, but I think I may have been eighteen; not that that matter, but then I said something like, "... I haven't really; read a translation, it's like reading the Bible in English and saying you've read it." Pleased to say she smiled at that; that she inderstood what I was trying to say. They were busy so she went back to what she was doing and I carried on my way. I have to say it would be interesting to try to read a translation side by side with the original; both the Qu'ran and the Bible (new and old testaments).

So glad you’re through the worst. Do (you and Richard) take it easy for a few weeks afterwards, it’s a strange beast and sometimes comes back with a different attack.

Thanks for the update. Please keep on making sure you all have enough rest - as I'm sure you're aware this thing can be an evil beast for not quite going. Hope Carrie's mum starts feeling better soon too. Bless Oswin, she's a star.

I admire you all. You are a real fighter. It is so distressing to read how much you suffer - but again, I am proud of you and your husband and of course of your Sunshine Oswin.
I hope you will soon get better - and you have to get your strenght back. I am keeping my fingers crossed for you.

Glad you are on the mend, and hope Carrie's mum is over the worst of it soon.
Thanks for the tips.
