The Daily Mail Song

Thanks to [livejournal.com profile] megamole  for pointing me to this one.

My secret shame is that my parents, who are otherwise intelligent and rational people, read the Daily Mail...

Chap I worked with for four year, sharing an office with him alone, did not annoy each other, intelligent and good-natured, not bigoted in any way that I could find, read the Mail from cover to cover every day. I used to flip through for the cartoons and the racing - plus the film reviews on Friday. I also used to point out the way it contradicted itself... He just grinned.

I read the cartoons when I visit. I read chunks of the rest when desperate for reading material at breakfast. But about half way though I usually realise that the information content is so low that I'd be better off inventing most of it.

I can't figure out if the appeal is the 'gossip' factor, or if it's just habit.
