A good day on Freecycle

Gave away half a dozen glass jars to a jam maker two streets away.  Collected Harry Potter CCG cards for Henry (well, he walked round and got them as they were very local).  Tomorrow we're going to pick up some manure from horses kept on grass all year.

A good day for Freecycle and all within the village.

If you want to find your local Freecycle group, just put your town name and 'Freecycle' into Google.

I *love* freecycle! We've managed to get so much stuff for the house, like furniture and kitchen paraphenalia. It has meant we haven't had to spend as much populating the house! I also got some really rare first edition SF books, a beautiful porcelain sink with taps (which we haven't fitted yet, but we will), and a belfast sink (that was not so much fun to bring home - it had to be carried down a flight of 30 steps.) ANd gorgeaous Victorian and Italian floor tiles. Love it, love it, love it :)

And the cats, of course - they were advertised on freecycle too. They alone make it worht trawling through the emails everyday.

I'm a member of Cardiff freecycle but find there are too many posts to keep up with. Would help if there were categories like 'furniture'... it might be searchable I really haven't used it that much - but ought to cos I need a small item of furniture.

I'm lucky. Ours covers a smaller area, so the list isn't as long.

Categories would not do it for me, as almost everything I've had has been serendipity. eg. I wouldn't have thought to look for CCG cards.

Maybe having a list for a Cardiff suberb would be the answer? Less travelling as well.

Mind you, my sister used to use Freecycle mainly for getting furniture, so I can see the value in your suggestion as well.

Why not suggest it to the people who run your Freecycle group? Or offer to set up a separate group for furniture?
