Asperger's Quiz

I just did the Aspie quiz which can be found at http://www.rdos.net/eng/Aspie-quiz.php

Your Aspie score: 45 of 200
Your neurotypical (non-autistic) score: 140 of 200
You are very likely neurotypical

Pretty much what I expected. Unlike many fannish types, I don't have much of a tendency towards Asperger's. The questions seem quite well organised and well thought out (unlike some quizes that you see). I gather the guy is looking to see if there is any correlation between certain physical traits and Asperger's symptoms.

I get an aspie score of 39/200 and neurotypical score of 142/200

Urgh, does that mean I'm something resembling normal? How depressing...

Your Aspie score: 98 of 200
Your neurotypical (non-autistic) score: 92 of 200
You are more Aspie than neurotypical

67, 107, more neurotypical than Asperger's. (Pity there wasn't a question "Do you find abbreviations like Aspie irritating?") I was mostly 1s and don't-knows - I didn't think it was a very good scoring system, because I was tending to use don't-knows when I really wanted something between their definition of 0 and 1, for "perhaps, not that often, depending on other circumstances".

What do you think he meant by "quitness"? Quiet? Most of the errors I could make a guess at.

Some of my answers would have been "depending on circumstances", if that had been an option. For example, I'm much more likely to drop things shortly before and during my period.

I couldn't guess at "quitness". I wondered it if meant "giving things up", as in quitting.

Aspie score: 140/200
Non autistic score: 48/200
"You are very likely and Aspie."

Not that that's news, particularly.

My score is very similar to yours. Not something I'd thought about much but it makes sense.

Your Aspie score: 38 of 200
Your neurotypical (non-autistic) score: 171 of 200
You are very likely neurotypical

I felt torn between some questions like

Do you prefer animals to people?

Since I love Animals and have worked with them I can sometimes be very distracted by them. I did not want to make that choice.

Is creating a social identity important for you?

I felt this question was one of the hardest. Social identity I feel I sometimes work too hard to make people accept me because I spent so much of my childhood not being accepted because of my dyslexia. I sometimes try too hard to make friends and sometimes miss communicate or misunderstand what people are telling me because I find it hard to translate information through my dyslexia. It can be a bad thing and I do try very hard to understand, to try to understand what people really mean rather than what they are saying. I think for me being accepted by people is very important. This is all due to weaknesses I know I have, and being able to show people I am intelligent and not stupid.

I just find it so hard to tell people I have problems in that area and so often people miss understand me because of it, and then I find I am loosing that connection with people mostly because I miss understand what they are hinting. I do see when I have upset someone or when they have reached their limit I am good at reading people but not at the words. It is frustrating to not understand something which is simple to everyone else and I do try very hard to be more confident. Some days I am slipping down the slope and I feel frustrated and embarrassed, other days I am running up the hill and all is well.

Have you thought of drawing up a dyslexia icon? It might be a useful reminder to people.

Perhaps make the image a bit blurry or with letters jumping around to help demonstrate the problem.

do you mean form my livejournal?

The Picture. Okay that is a silly question.

No I had not really though of that. And since I don't have an artist bone in my body I don't think I could.

Well okay I lied I do have an artist bone it comes out in my imagination to describe things and being able to sing, and I have a photographic memory for music and can play whole scores in my mind.

I could ask one of my artist friends if they can draw me some animation or a simple picture.

Definitely ask an artist friend. I freely confess to not having made any of my own icons. This one, for instance, was made by my friend [livejournal.com profile] kerravonsen.

I described to her what I saw in my mind and suggested possible pictures to work from and then she produced the lovely icon that you see here.

Try a couple of different ideas for the icon and maybe have more than one if you get several good ideas.

31 Asperger's, 150/200 Neurotypical. No news to me. I know I would have scored differently as a teenager, though.

Your Aspie score: 151 of 200
Your neurotypical (non-autistic) score: 43 of 200

Self-diagnosis is difficult, as I don't know very many people who are likely to be neurotypical.

Very similar to yours.

It would have been interesting to have a question later on about how "quitness" was interpreted. I agree with the suggestion of "Do you find abbreviations like Aspie irritating?" as a good question.

I also wonder if the test stats could correlate anything to the way we answer overall. For example, some may use mostly 1s and don't-knows, while I almost always used 0 or 2. One of the exceptions is the silly "Do you prefer animals to people?" question: all depends on which people an which animals.

That's an interesting thought. I wouldn't be surprised if there was a correlation between Aspergers and a tendency to only use 0 and 2.

Whereas I used 1 quite a lot. eg. I took the view that I prefered some animals to some people and therefore ticked 1.

I scored 67, against a 'typical' score of 102. Which I interpret as different enough to stand out from the herd, but not to the point where I need to worry about it. At least, that's my interpretation and I'm sticking to it so there ect:)
