Cairncross Breakfast Club

I'm still too sleepy to post much about Worldcon apart from the fact that it was great, but I'd like to say a big 'thank you' to all the members of the Cairncross Breakfast Club.

I don't think I've ever had such enjoyable convention breakfasts. We had a wonderful selection of food. I had breakfasts ranging from fresh fruit in porridge to the full fry up. I had fresh scrambled eggs, several different kinds of cereal, fruit juice, etc. Not forgetting some really good marmalade on my toast.

The company was fantastic, the hours were infinitely flexible, we cooked for anyone who happened to be in the room and everyone washed up. The kitchen was big and brightly lit. There were two cookers and fridges and all the pots and pans and plates etc. (Though Alex Holden's toaster came in very handy and [livejournal.com profile] sugoll brought an extra sharp knife and a pair of tongs which were useful for getting boiled eggs out of pans)

I made new friends and had a sociable relaxing start to every morning. And it cost way less than a normal hotel breakfast in spite of everyone bringing lots of really nice stuff to eat.

Sounds lovely! We were at Kelvinhaugh Gate, but the 6 of us in the flat never seemed to get together, though 5 of us managed tea at two in the morning...

Thank you for organising it!
