missing e-mail

I've definitely been losing some e-mail recently. I don't know what's happening, but several times in the last month I've not recieved an e-mail that I was expecting, queried someone, only to be told that they had indeed replied.

E-mail is never 100% reliable, but I've never noticed this many losses before. It seems unlikely to be spam filter problems as I'm losing them from people who have previously e-mailed me without problems. And the repeat reply from them is arriving fine.

Then again, I know so little about spam filters that I could be wrong.

Is this a common problem or is it just me?

If you send me an e-mail and never get a reply, it may be worth double-checking (though it may just be my very slow normal rate of replying).

Well, I know at least one didn't reach me this month, though in the nature of things you don't always know what's gone missing. My spam filter lets me check what's on the server first, and I know I'm more likely to have more problems with attachment posts, so if I'm really worried about whether something will download properly I usually access it via mail2web and try to get at the attachment first.

Boo, missing e-mail sucks! Not to mention how it can lead to serious misunderstandings.

All I've sent you recently is a brief "happy anniversary" e-mail on (I think) Saturday. :)

Oh God, yes. I can remember one of those. Ouch.

I don't know if I've missed any myself (nobody, except spammers, e-mails me much anyway) but it sounds as if you didn't get my offer of my story for Hermit library. It's here. http://www.livejournal.com/users/reapermum/25434.html#cutid1
I'll resend the text file if you want it.
