What Tarot Card are you?
What Tarot card are you?
I was in Oxfam today (we'd gone there to find clothes for Molly. She needs things that can be put on by someone with plaster from just above the shoulder to just below the elbow - *big* sleeves are the order of the day) and I browsed though various books. The natural history section didn't have any good ones, so I tried the esoteric. My opinion of most esoteric stuff is that it's a load of complete and utter tripe, but I do have a weakness for Tarot cards.
There's a lot of things I don't believe about Tarot, but I do believe it's a good guide to pulling things from your unconscious mind. The symbolism is extremely useful and there's been a couple of times when reading the cards has really made me stop and think.
Anyway, the book fell open at the hanged man. This is an image of a man suspended from a tree by his ankle. His wrists are behind him, presumably bound together. Unexpectedly for a man in such a position, he has a relaxed, serene expression on his face.
The card has several possible meanings, but one of the main ones is self-knowledge and acceptence of yourself as you are.

I turned again and came to Temperence. This is me. Or rather, this is what I need to be. The card merely crystallised thoughts I'd been having for several days. The picture, for those wanting to know, is of a woman pouring water from one jug into another. She often has one foot on land and the other in a pool of water. Sometimes she is portrayed as an angel with wings.
I need to calm down, to be more temperate. I also need to use my ability to teach ('Temperance' also reflects knowledge passing from one vessel onto another). The card also tells me to slow down, to flow with the world and to be less hasty.
Anyone else want to know what card I see them as? And why? If I don't know you well enough to select the right card, then I'll take one at random and see what it tells me. (I've got two decks - if I'm choosing, then I'll use the Waite deck as that's the one I visualise in my head. If I'm picking at random, then you can have either the Waite deck or the Lord of the Rings deck.)

Justice
Justice is a woman seated on a throne. She holds a sword in one hand and a pair of scales in the other. She is robed in red and crowned with a gold crown.
I don't think this is always your card, but it is the one that is right for you at the moment. The desire for Justice is paramount in your mind and to some extent clouds other issues.
The scales of judgement must be balanced, but they must not be forced. You need
to find equilibrium within yourself first.
This card can also represent inner balance, and this is the lesson of the card for you. You need to find ways to regain your inner balance (as if you didn't know that already).
Justice will happen, but don't let the desire to for it happen quickly damage your inner self.
