Bombs in London
Oddly enough, the thing that I keep wanting to know is whether the bus driver survived.
It may sound odd until you realise that my eldest son is a bus driver. Until now, I never thought of this as a hazardous occupation.
That point of connection is enough to make me fearful for the life of someone I've never known.
Somehow, I always knew my friends would be safe. (and as far as I can tell from LJ, they all are)
The thing that makes me most angry is the timing of this to be against the G8 summit. No matter how badly these people feel they have been treated, are they really worse off than the poor in Africa or all the millions who will be victims of climate change?
This is highjacking attention away from some of the most needy people on this planet.
