Thunderstorm

We finally got our share of the thunderstorm which added some much needed rain to the garden.

Henry and I stood in the back doorway and watched it. There's something about rain in hot weather, the way the earth smells, the way the giant drops spash into the pond.

Later, we went for a walk along the Roman Road and it rained gently and it was lovely.

The only down point was when a lightnening strike somewhere nearby killed my computer (which is the only one not covered by the surge protector). Fortunately, it recovered later on.

I love thunderstorms. Nature flexing her muscles. They are brilliant.

There are thunderstorms and thunderstorms. Last night's was a bit of damp squib, with grumbles rather than rumbles of thunder, and lightning failing to lighten anything.

But I remember a cracker some years back, middle of the night, no rain but huge great forks of lightning searing across the sky. And watching it stab the sea is pretty cool too.
