 The Morris Federation are doing a recruiting push, backed up by a lot of short videos.  Here's the one for Anonymous Morris 

 

We're a team with wide variation in age, etc.  See my family photo!.  (I'm the oldest one. The rest are my son, daughter-in-law,  grandson (very young) and my grand-daughter by my daughter.  Theo and Oswin, you can deduce, are cousins.

Dreamwidth's photo hosting is clunky beyond belief...  I do wish they'd put a bit of effort into making it work better.

DW isn't very good with stuff from other photo sites. Most places I can use Google photos, but not DW.

I've never had a problem posting an image that I've uploaded to imgur.

Hmm, can't explore much from the phone but touching the tiny icon got me a submenu from which I could see the picture (which is a really lovely one!).

When you say the 'embed code' I'm guessing this is the HTML that the Dreamwidth image upload tool gave you after the upload?

I'll try and poke things from a proper 'puter later today, but I'm wondering if somehow not all the entry returned by the upload tool got copied.

Finally got it. But only by keeping a tag on the last entry where someone else told me what to do! It's basically a black magic sequence, you have to set a thumbnail of the right size and embed the thumbnail in the html.

Nothing else will work.

Thanks! There was a guy from Wimborne Camera Club taking photos at the festival, and I asked him if he could do a couple of family photos for us.

Theo's wearing the tiny tatter jacket that Oswin had when she was that size.

Ooo-er.

I keep my images on a different site, and do my own incantations to feal with size and scaling.

I found 1000 was the magic size for stuff hosted on DW.

But if I use Facebook, I can link to anything anywhere, and it imports it and it fits every time with no effort....

But DW does have a much higher content to fuzz ratio. I can read who I want to read...

That is such a lovely photo!

Your recruiting video is much nicer than ours. The Morris Federation filmed us dancing outside some public toilets, with no-one watching. 😊

The Fed took clips from videos we'd already posted online.

I make a point of trying to get one or two new videos every year if I can. I delete the worst ones and keep the best.

Tell friends and family to keep on taking videos. Sooner or later, you get a decent one.

one of our band has a tripod to hold her phone steady - that makes a big difference.

I guess Henry does look a lot like Richard at that age.

Theo's going to take a lot more after Caitlin. Dark hard and dark eyes as well. But he's a climber - gets that from both parents apparently.
