Watervoles
Water voles are small and cute and the fastest declining British mammal.
I am none of the above, though I'll take cute if offered...
Water voles live in riverbanks; they are vegetarian and although Ratty from Wind in the Willows was a water vole, it's important to realise that water voles are not rats.
Threats to water voles include:
Mink
Loss of habitat
Water pollution
Being killed by people who can't tell them apart from rats.
