As any Terry Pratchett fans among you will know, the Lancre Morris Men were famous for (apart from several other things involving fighting and alcohol) for their performance of the dreaded Stick and Bucket dance.

Sadly, Sir Terry never recorded the exact moves of this dance, but this has never prevented his fans at Chippenham from holding the annual Stick and Bucket dance every Sunday evening at Chippenham Folk Festival.

Richard and I were able to watch this year and are able to report that this solemn and deeply reverential occasion involved this year at least the following: One tiger puppet (Tiger Feet), several custard pies, a broken broom , a mop, (Knights of King Ina), a scary number of puns about buckets and a large mock battle, plus bribery of the judges (NYFTE) and an impromptu entry by a toddler, who wandered into the road, started dancing and was promptly given a stick and a bucket to make the entry official.

(We missed the first few dances, as we were late)

Just to give you a feel of typical entries, here's the 2016 lineup.
 - if you aren't laughing by the end of this, you have no soul! -

At least one of my teams seriously needs to enter this next year!

Going to save this for the next time someone says to me "I just don't get the British sense of humor"
