So much..
So much to tell, and I'm flat out of energy and time to cover it all.
My son got married - pictures will follow eventually. Who? A lovely morris dancer!
At the wedding, my sister Carolyn mentioned that Sheffield University had a job vacancy for someone to sort out their timetables.
My daughter LIndsey used to schedule buses.
She applied for the job - and heard back today that she'd got it. She'll be working from home, it pays a lot better than being a postie - and you don't get bitten by dogs or end up with serious concussion after being hit by the door of a garage where a customer said it was safe to leave a parcel. No working outdoors carrying heavy parcels uphill in a 30C+ heatwave either. (the heatwave was the decider - she'd just get home and collapsed for most of the evening)
The sciatica operation was a resounding success, I can swim, drive, dance, etc. once more. I can think straight now I'm not in constant pain.
But, it's summer holidays, so Oswin is here four days a week - which is great, but draining....
And there are endless problems for the local Ukrainian community, only some of which I can offer help with. Some of the students fall into a Catch 22, where they qualify neither for student loans nor for Universal Credit.
KIrill is doing fine though.

Of course good news about Lindsey, it is so rare to get a good job...
I do know how much draining it is to have our little ones...we love them to pieces but...
The situation here in CR is dire because of the energy crisis plus the financial inflation. This combination is really deadly. If nothing is done, our economy will collapse. My budget is totally destroyed by enormous energy and food prices. Our industry is on the verge of destruction...But the politicians just TALK and PROMISE. This is not what we need, indeed!

Richard and I are faring better than most as we grow a lot of our own food. We also have solar panels which helps a bit with the electricity and an electric car.
But poor people... All the government schemes to help people will actually save more money for the rich than the poor!
People will die this winter because of this lack of help.
MY heart goes out to you - you are in such a terrible situation.

Also, yay for lack of pain and new and better jobs
