 Look what Natasha just made from one of my old B7 filk songs!

For those rare, but very nice, fans of Olag Gan.

The singer is Linda Short.

Any Stan Rogers fans will recognise where the inspiration for the song came from (and you can sing it to the tune of MacDonnel on the Heights if you have Stan's vocal range...)

Isn't it just! I was so pleased.

I gave her a copy of Linda's recordings not long ago, but I wasn't expecting song vids in return.

I saw that when she posted it on Facebook -- very nicely done. (Most of the B7 filks are to tunes I don't know, so I think of them as original songs; it's odd when I occasionally encounter one on the radio with its proper lyrics, because it feels as if someone is unexpectedly filking 'our' music!)

I suggested she should try "It's Lonely When You Never See the Sky", but she pointed out that it might be a bit tricky to do a video for that one, as the protagonist is a pre-Way-Back character who never appears on screen in canon :-D

Yes, the best you could probably do would be lots of shots of the dome on Earth.

Though, thinking about it, I can think of shots for quite a few lines.

eg. They wiped me from your mind -is the shot of Blake 'I can't remember'

I've got a feeling there are several shots of that cell - maybe one from the outside looking in? (not sure)

The first line of the chorus is clearly Liberator in open space.

The shots on the prison ship, both inside and outside should be pretty easy. I can visualise those.

One doesn't actually need to see the protagonist, as it's Linda singing. All you need is what the protagonist sees.

If you give her a list of suggested clips, she might go for it.
