Indian call centres

Never trust a call centre in another country. I just had problems accessing my phone account online. I was putting in all my details correctly, but it kept on insisting I had the wrong password.

I phoned them up to confirm I was using the correct password. I was.

It was only after several minutes of argument and getting him to spell my e-mail address back to me (I'd already spelt it to him) that we finally figured out.

He had me as judith@wabeney.org

'v' and 'b' sound very alike to speakers of some other languages...

Phonetically, 'v' and 'b' are very similar. They're practically the same sound, only the 'b' is more labial.

In Hebrew the letters for 'b' and 'v' are the same, distinguished only by a dot to show whether it's a hard ('b') or soft ('v') sound.
