Feeling numb

I think you lose your capacity for shock after a while. You just stop reacting to things.

Richard's brother just phoned to say that their mother is in hospital with a broken arm.

Molly, my mother-in-law is one of those people you can't help liking. She's intelligent, practical, good-humoured and all the rest. Richard gets many of his best qualities from her.

I guess I'm just waiting to see which member of the family will be next.

Ack! You're right -- whatever next? :(

I hope your poor mother-in-law's arm heals quickly.

In which case she's perfectly placed to cope with a broken arm.

Good luck to all your family, I hope they escape without further drama.

Yikes. How did it happen? (Don't answer that until you feel better about typing!) Please pass on good wishes for her safe recovery.

Hello lamppost, what'cha knowing?
I've come to watch your flowers growing
Ain't you got no rhymes for me?
Do-it-a-do-do, feeling groovy
