the phone never stops ringing

I'm trying to watch Supervolcano. I've a strong interest in geophysics and it's actually a drama where they've made a serious effort to get the science correct.

In addition to that, it seems like every actor who ever played a minor role in Stargate is in it. I've spotted four so far, including Tom McBeath.

Every time I get settled in, the phone rings. I think I'm now upto one spam call from a cleaning company, one call for Richard from the warden on Brownsea Island, one call for Henry from his bank (he found an extra thousand pounds on his
last bank statement and decided to be honest and tell the bank about it), and one call from a woman wanting to book a dealer's table for Paragon II (do not ask why the hotel gave her my number rather than that of one of the Paragon commi
ttee - I think all SF cons are the same in their minds).

I suppose the only bright thing is that at least I wasn't watching it live, or I'd have missed most of it by now.

Tangentially related: yes, you and Richard were right, you can't get TiVo in Australia. But you've got me interested in the idea, and I've investigated, and I think that the thing most likely to give me the lovely degree of control that TiVo gives would be to actually turn a computer into a PVR and run the MythTV sofware on it. Which will take time, effort and money, so it's not going to happen any time soon. But it may happen.

Oh good grief, sorry.

Yes, we noticed some "familiar faces". John kept shouting at the screen, No, Don't Trust Him !!!!!

It was good, a bit American in terms of numbers of key characters who survived, but interesting.
