For lovers of long words and Greek (and Xena)

Via selenak - the Gilbert and Sullivan version of Xena - which I know will appeal to the sesquipedlian on my flist (and those who like ancient languages) and see how many words you need/don't need to look up in the footnotes...

You don't need to know much about Xena to appreciate it - I've only ever seen about two episodes, and I enjoyed this.

Hmmm. I think I needed to look up two words, possibly a third - but I had to really think about several more!
I've always loved Gilbert & Sullivan and this was very much in their spirit!!

Some years ago the nMC did the Xena version of Modern Major General in our set at the February filkcon. When the singer declared that "Basileia Makhetes" was Greek for "Warrior Princess", our resident native Greek speaker disputed the translation... Which of course got the biggest laugh. :D
