 Visualise a grey, overcast sky, but with the sun clearing through close to the horizon.  

Now, add a flock of gulls flying across against that grey sky, with the sun lighting up the underside of their wings.

A wave of silver birds winging across the sky.

I'd take a photo, but it would never do them justice.
