Tidying...

Different people use different techniques for tidying.

One common habit is to put stuff in piles rather than sorting it.

This has a follow on problem when someone, trying to be helpful, looks at a pile of magazines (without checking what is in it) and decides to pop the whole pile in the recycling.

It's only because I was looking for last week's paper in the recycling (because my cleaning lady mentioned a job ad she'd seen) that I found my new morris tune book which someone had placed in one of those piles and someone else had dumped without checking.

Now, I'm wondering where my EFDSS magazines are - because I wouldn't have junked those, but I rather think someone else has.

Ah, yes. I put stuff in piles. Sometimes those are 'I will deal with those later' piles. But sometimes they are highly organised piles and I know exactly what's in them!

me too - best never to throw out/charity shop anything unless all parties in the house check it again first. I've accidentally put stuff I wanted in the wrong pile before now, including a brand new dress...

I am glad you found the tune book!
Well, you would not believe me how many "lost" things I always find during a "big" cleaning!

we have a new books pile or bag in the living room - usually a pile in front of the sofa, from which things make their way, gradually, upstairs.I'ts next to the Dave-using-for-work- do- not- move pile But we just had a hunt for a book Dave was using for research which I'd moved.....so it's not failsafe. And the cats knock things over a lot.

we're not tidy though - ever. Neither of us mind or care.;-)
