Back from BEstival

Just back from Camp Bestival, where Anonymous were one of four morris teams performing over the weekend.  (Wyvern Jubilee, Festus Derriman and Hobos were the others)

Great weekend.  The weather was perfect.  Lots of sunshine, but never too hot to dance.  It's very much a festival aimed at the family market with lots of activities for children as well as the music for the adults.

Jugglers, puppets, plays, acrobats, commedians, all sorts of stuff - and morris dancers.

I was impressed by the trollies many parents were using.  Four wheels with a flat platform about  four feet by 2 foot on top (some bigger ,some smaller).  Add a small fence round the edge and a long handle at the front, and the kids and all their stuff can be taken everywhere.  In the evening, put the children in their sleeping bags in the trolley and the baby-sitting problem is solved in a moment.  You simply take them with you. I saw loads of small children curled up in their mobile beds.  

a lot of people decorated their trollies with fancy tops, flags, fairy light, all sorts of fun ideas.  I only wish I'd thought to take some photos.

There were trolleys for hire at the Barefoot festival as well: http://trolleytots.com/ I hired one for an hour to drag my tent and stuff across the field.

We were very lucky with the weather this weekend, although I think the rain could have held off for an hour instead of bucketing down the moment I had my tent down and ready to pack up.

I wonder where the idea came from. I was at a model aircraft show at the weekend and I saw a chap pulling a kid around on a slightly smaller home-made wooden trolley.
