The one way I think ebooks could possibly distinguish themselves, in a good way, from paper books in the actual reading experience, is the ability for a surprise ending to be a surprise both in plot terms and in story ending terms. With paper novels you know you are coming to the end and that this last twist is actually the last possible twist.
