Happy Music

I've been so happy today that I've been walking round humming all day.  They all seem to be really joyous pieces of music, so I thought I'd share some of them with you and brighten up your day.

Some I already own, some I'm just buying and one, rather to my annoyance, I can't find a copy to buy...

I can't find anywhere to buy the Simon Park version of Eye Level...

Sadly, 'rolling round the world' by The Yetties isn't on You Tube, so I can't share it with you, (though I highly recommend it) but I've just gone and bought the CD with some birthday money.

It's on this CD which happens to have several good happy songs on it.

And to end the selection - Bring Me Sunshine - Morcombe and Wise

Thanks for those - very happy music.

I do love the current BBC clip compilation version of 'Bring Me Sunshine' - always makes me smile.

Though I did follow the 60's theme music link on the 'Eye Level' video and am now getting all teary-eyed over 'White Horses'.

(And LJ seems to be down again - which is proabbly just as well).

Ohhh...such a joy!!!I am still drying my tears. I think you know, when something is so lovely and your heart is full and so...I always cry when i hear, see or read something beautiful.
I am really happy for you and I thank you for sharing these gems with me!!!

I really seem to have hit a chord here. I'm going to put all these songs in one folder on my MP3 player.

Damn, you beat me to it!

I just searched for "Van der Valk" theme :-)

Ahah! Excellent. I have an entire album by the 'Simon Park Orchestra' but I got it somewhere dodgy. It would be nice to rehabilitate that by buying Top Dog, which also includes 'Left Bank 2', surely the most famous of these tunes, and the Roobarb theme.

Oddly enough, I bought a copy of Left Bank 2 earlier in the year to use as the soundtrack for a presentation...

Of course, what I'd really like is a reissue of Francis Monkman's album Energism on CD (principally for Achievements of Man - the theme from Think of a Number), or for that matter the work he did for Bruton (Release of Energy, for example).

Thank you!

Ah, I've loved Joseph for...ooh, about the last 36 years. Brilliant musical. Lovely song.

Great selection, especialy Zip-A-Dee-Doo-Dah. It's a great shame that Disney will never release The Song of the South on to DVD. It's one of the only Disney movies never to be released on video in the USA too.
