I've just seen that report on BBC News and thought "I know who does that!"
Bravo to Richard and everyone else!

Good news about the red squirrels but just think of the poor rhododendron, 25% of rhododendron species are under threat of extinction.
I like to keep my eye out for the black squirrels we have around here.

R.ponticum is an invasive introduced species. It doesn't belong in Britain.

Well done, Richard and all. I visited Brownsea many years ago and saw lots of red squirrels, a very unusual sight. :-)

Oh, well done, congratulations. I hope the red ones will survive. Invasion of foreign species, fauna or flora, is always dangerous.
