Who can draw?

Can any of my flist draw cartoons?

I need a cartoon image of a border morris dancers to use on posters. I really don't want to use a photo as any photo would be of an existing side and would have the wrong colour kit.  A cartoon in black and white would not suffer from this problem and would also reproduce clearly and be visible from a distance.

If anyone can help, I can give them suitable images to use as a base.

Ask me when you've free time, and I'll tell you if I've had any luck.

Would this image be any use?

Alternatively send me the image you have as there's some tricks that can be done with Photoshop.

I don't think Silhill morris would thank us for using their art...

I'll see if I can find some photos for you to play with.

I think it's Hedingham Fayre who do the postcards with drawings of the various morris sides out there, if that's any help?

I like their art, but we don't have a kit yet, so need something very generic (and free, because we have no members to pay subs yet)

There's somebody on my Flist who does a lot of cartooning, so let me know if you want me to forward your request to him

Please. I've been looking all over the web, but the only good cartoon images are either copyright or clearly linked to another side.

You used to be a dancer, so you'll know the kind of image I'm after. A Border dancer with a stick in any kind of pose that suggests movement.

Ok I'll ask him to look at this thread, since I notice it's not Friendslocked.

Hi [livejournal.com profile] watervole, Sadhead here. I'd like to discuss this with you. Yes, I'm in America but we know of Morris dancing here thanks to all the Morris troupes that perform here, most often at Folklife.
Write to me at camposmark (at) gmail (dot) com.

Thanks.

BTW, I recently got in touch with the foreman of the White Rats. They're still dancing. I mentioned I had a friend who used to dance with a gay morris side and he said to pass on his email if you'd like to chat to him.

That's a kind offer but to tell the truth, I don't think there's much to say now that I've stopped dancing and Miss Demeanour's is long gone. But if he wants to contact me through LJ I don't mind passing a message on to others of the former Miss D's people. I think some of them are still dancing Morris and playing for barn dances.

Timing!

AFAIK she's not in fandom, so probably wouldn't have done a commission piece for free, but a small press person I follow just posted a couple of pages of morris dancing sketches, that she may let make use of if you ask nicely.

She's good! Sadly, most of the images are of Cotswold or North West dancers. Of the two Border teams, one is in skirts and the other in motorbike gear.

I've left a note to say how much I like her art.
