Doing the Mending
I'm really enjoying not spending every free moment on convention work. Free time is a novelty, and one I'm enjoying getting used to.
I've done lots of stuff in the garden and on the allotment - and will be doing more over the next few weeks.
I'm also really enjoying catching up on the mending. There's some clothes that had been waiting over a year for repairs... So far, I've fixed the facings on a favourite jacket, repaired two pairs of trousers and I'm about to darn my favourite pair of bed socks.
I'm gradually clearing the junk off my desk; the dishes are getting washed regularly rather than when we run out of plates, and piles of stuff are getting sorted out for charity shops.
It even looks as though I'll actually get to finish the Iain Banks novel I'm reading!

Sounds like a medieval taylor.
FIRST GENTLEMAN: "Oh no! There's a rip in tunic."
SECOND GENTLEMAN: "Ah, you should go to see Dong the Mending, he'll fix it for you."

I give myself about six months before I get bored and take on another major voluntary commitment...
