There were several instances in this video where people were walking towards the spot where he landed. If they'd been walking there just a few seconds earlier, he would indeed have mowed them down.
Also, I see him removing a traffic sign and seriously bending a wooden barrier just to execute one of his stunts. He's also shown biking over some store roofs. Roofs aren't specifically made to bear weight and riding a bike over one might cause whatever makes them waterproof to shift enough so that it's no longer waterproof. All of this is plain vandalism.
There are several instances in the video where he shows that it's perfectly possible for him to practice his craft without either endangering the public or damaging property. The fact that he sees no trouble with doing those things anyway, tells me that he's an irresponsible jerk, no matter how good he is.
Well, we see him putting the barrier back, and the roof he takes off from is a bicycle shop, so I'd be willing to give him the benefit of the doubt on that one.
And I think, but it's only a guess, that *some* of the people (e.g. the ones near the circular area with the banked bits) are actually his friends there to keep his landing area clear ... but I agree that others do look to be just in the middle of the public.
And what sort of public body puts in a sign pole like that so it can just be pulled up by someone without tools? All the ones around here are set in concrete ...
... though I'm surprised that, as I did, you didn't complain about him riding his bicycle on the pavement! Now *that* is against the law (riding on top of railings may not be!)
It's clever and skilled, and I'm mightily impressed by his "bike parkour" but I do agree that that sort of thing can be dangerous to passersby.
They built a special trials course for these guys at Stromlo Park. It was used for the Word Trials Championships back in September. There were 96 riders competing in the trials. They are quite spectacular to watch. You have a time limit to complete each section of a challenging course.
