Vertigo and Travel Sickness Tablets

Kwells, active ingredient hyoscine hydrobromide, do not help my dizziness.

I may try another brand of travel sickness tablet with a different active ingredient as they do help some people.

I'm sorry to hear you have been suffering. Just wanted to ask - have they ruled out Meniere's disease? Get well soon.

Meniere's may well be on the cards - my grandfather had it.

However, I don't have tinitus (which often goes with Meniere's) so I'm crossing my fingers that I don't have it.

I'm seeing the doctor again tomorrow. Hopefully get referred to ENT.

Mine got diagnosed when the doc tracked her finger across the room for me to follow it and I nearly felt of the chair.

I had pills which were supposed to reduce the inflammation in my inner ear to allow it all to calm down.

Sending soothing thoughts

My vertigo isn't as bad as that, but I feel off balance a lot of the time and keep bumping into things.

They haven't tried anti-inflamatories yet, but I'm seeing the doctor again this morning.

Ah dear, only the travel sickness itself is horrible let alone more diziness.
My friend advised me to try candied ginger; after the first shock I got used to it and I BELIEVE that it works :-)
I hope you will find something good enough. *Hugs*

Crystallised ginger is quite good for travel sickness - I use it myself. But that helps the nausea, not the sense of balance.

It won't help with the vertigo problems I'm having.

*Sigh*I thought so....

Maybe relevant:

*Highly* effective, *if* that's your problem. But to find the right treatment you need to consider all the differential diagnoses. To state the bleeding obvious, treatments for the wrong diagnoses won't help. Neither will 'woo', unless placebo's your thang...

Already tried that - was virtually the first port of call.

I don't have BPPV (but thanks for suggesting it, because I might have missed it).

There's a lot of possible causes and BPPV is virtually the only one I've managed to eliminate.

I'm trying a couple of things, mainly exercises, on the grounds that placebos can work even when you know they are placebos. (and they might be right, depending on the eventual diagnosis...)

You need to try the ones mum uses, Stugeron, which have the active ingredient cinnarizine.. most effective travel sickness med in the world actually, we used to send some to my uncle in Oz who had a yacht, one year it got into difficulties and was stuck in towering waves in a huge storm and he was the only one of the (seasoned sailors) not heaving his guts over the side in weather so bad the nearby aircraft carrier was the only thing large enough to be able to withstand the waves... yeah. Good against the dizziness also, obviously.

Hope you can find something which works for this.

I can second the recommendation for Stugerons.

I get seriously bad motion sickness in cars/ coaches etc but Stugerons make a hell of a difference!
