Fanfic

I've actually completed my first piece of fanfic in a scarily long period of time, even if it is only 500 words.  Now, all I have to remember to do is to post it on [livejournal.com profile] kerravonsen 's birthday...

I've tried to subvert one of the normal conventions of cross-universe short stories - I hope she likes it...

Ah - you do write! Excellent!

Surely you've read some of my Blake's 7 fiction? I wrote loads of it, including two novels.

I've also written two Stargate novels and some short stories.

It was increasing pain in my neck/shoulder that mostly put paid to my writing.

But of course, I have read all your B7 fiction - I mean what was available. I only thought you had stopped writing - that´s why I am so pleased to read about a new one!:-)

Ah, the perils of English grammar - smile.

You didn't mean "You do write" (which means that I can write), but "You're writing" which means that I am writing at the present time.

It's a subtle difference, but an important one.

"I play the recorder" - I can play it, but might not have touched it for months.

"I am playing the recorder" - I'm playing it right now.

:-) Oh yes, shame - this is basic grammar - but I was sooooooooo pleased! :-)
