When gaming meets mathematics
Just spent a rather enjoyable 20 mins with Henry and friends working out the effect of a particular spell in their current RPG. Messing around with our combined knowledge, a bit of Google and the mathematical relationship between force and pressure to try and work out the effect of a particular spell in increasing the power of a punch.
Amazingly, a skilled puncher can manage a force of around 4000N, which means that the spell (which at first felt horribly over-powered) only adds about half as much again damage to the punch - which feels about right.
