Adblock

I am eternally grateful to whichever of my frineds (sadly, I cannot remember whom) who recently mentioned Adblock as an add on for Firefox.

I have just been able to read the Independant again - a pleasure I had given up in favour of BBC news.  I didn't mind it when the adverts were static, but when they became so animated that I could no longer focus properly on the text I was reading, I abandoned the site.

Moral - If you make your ads too obnoxious, people will find ways to not read them at all.

I was so concentrated NOT to make a mistake that I changed your raspberries in strawberries! Sorry!

You didn't know? **BOGGLE**

There's plenty more where that came from. Tools -> Addons -> Get Extensions
For example you might like Scrapbook https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/427
There's also a British English dictionary if you don't already have it.

Personally I use adblocker because I don't like the idea of people tracking me between sites.

Big fan of no script too.

Just because you're paranoid doesn't mean they aren't out to get you.
