Library Thing

I've finally succumbed to Library Thing.  I've been playing around with Visual Bookshelf on Facebook and thinking "Why can't you give books a rating, etc?"

So, I joined Library Thing, because it can.

It'll be  a very slow process inputting books as the shoulder will only let me do a few at a time, but I don't think I'll need to input that many for it to start giving me good recommendations.

Do you have a webcam? [livejournal.com profile] major_clanger set it up as a barcode scanner, and can enter books on Library Thing in the time it takes to swipe one :-) It doesn't work so well on US imports or older books though.

Ooh, I didn't know it did recommendations. I started using it because I have some books here and some at home and it's useful to know what I have and what I don't have.

Although I have been meaning to go back and give my book ratings.

What's your identity on Librarything? I'd like to friend you there.

On the subject of books have you ever read a book called Pavane by a Keith Roberts. I stumbled upon
someone's top ten SF books page
and it was the only one I didn't recognize. As it is apparently set around Corfe Castle I figure you're moderately likely to have read it?

When my stuff finally arrives and is unpacked, you can have a play with my Cuecat...

Oh, no, first Facebook, now Library Thing. (Mel hangs head) I have no self-control on the web.
