Unexpected morris dancing
I've been in a bad rut recently, what with voice problems and health problems and other stuff.
Today, I had to go down to the village hall (I'll know tomorrow if they want me to stay on as caretaker, but I suspect probably not because of the shoulder trouble when moving tables/chairs) to let in a group for a morris dance practice.
I'd no idea who it was going to be (half expected it to be one of the local schools), but it turned out to be my old side, the Dorset Buttons who were there to learn a dance called Portland Hill along with the Quayside Cloggies.
I haven't morris danced for at least five or six years, but I asked if I could join in and they said that would be fine, so I nipped home, grabbed a pair of trainers and ran back again. Turned out that they were one dancer short of having two eights, so they were very pleased indeed and I got to dance for the entire 2.5 hours! I shall probably ache all over tomorrow, but it was well worth it. I feel much less stressed, and if the caretaker job does come to an end, then I'll be free on Monday evenings and I have an invitation from the Cloggies (one of whom lives in my village and has offered a lift to where they normally practice in Bournemouth) to join them and I think I may well do so.
I'm really pleased that something positive has come out of this job (even if it does end). I'm also planning on trying the Latin line-dance class that I encountered earlier in the week.

I'm really pleased for you that something positive happened, though I'm slightly boggled at the images I'm getting in my head for Latin line-dance. Can't be what I'm picturing off-hand...
