Sometimes, you just have to laugh...

Been meaning to get a new compost bin for a while.  Followed up one on Freecycle a few weeks ago, but it had already gone.  Put in a request, but no others available.

Bought bin half an hour ago off council web site (they're about a quarter of the price they are in garden centres and made from 75% recycled plastic)

Ten minutes ago, up comes a compost bin on Freecycle - in my own village!

Aaargh!

Still, at least the council one only cost me £7.

We have found that you can never really have enough compost bins. So I'd suggest offering for the Freecycle one as well.

Bother! Oh well, tell yourself you're encouraging the council's recycling policy by demonstrating a demand for the bins ;)

That's always the way of things, my friend. When we want it to rain, we should all wash the car (if only that worked).

I seem to have bad Freecycle karma, too. lol Although I did get a great roll-away bed for a guest totally free and another big thing was spared the refuse heap (and it was spared it).
