Scrabble

Just started a new game with J, Q and X. Got rid of one of those, only to pick up Z.

Individually, I view them all as opportunities, but not all at once, please!

You should try playing against my granny, who regards any letter worth more than 2 points as a curse to be disposed of as soon as possible. Likewise she regards the opportunity to play any word of more than four letters as some kind of heavenly gift.

Amazingly, she did once come close to beating me.

My rule of thumb is never to play a letter worth more than 3 unless I can get a double letter/word score for it.

in any kind of competitive game I tend to regard myself as a gentleman, but the granny brings out the player in me.
