I've been a con drinker for many a year,
And I spent all my time drinking whisky and beer,
But I woke up one morning on the costume room floor,
And I never will be a con drinker no more.

There were scanty clad lassies in snippets of lace,
And leather and corsets all over the place,
My religious conversion that moment was clear,
There are some things in life that are better than beer!
One tender young lassie took me for a walk,
To a place where an author was giving a talk,
Uplifting, witty, too soon it was done,
To my total surprise, I had found it was fun.
She took me to filking and quizzes and games,
I lost at the lot, but had fun for my pains,
I made a decision - a tough one, but damn,
When I come back next year - I will read the programme!
