Rudyard Kipling

It's wonderful to be able to share something you love.

The national curriculum for KS2 English says children should be exposed to both current and classic children's literature, so I got my current pupil to read from one of the modern books she has (which look like a good selection of Jacqueline Wilson and others) and then crossed my fingers and tried one of the Just So Stories: 'The Cat that Walked by Himself'. She loved it - so much so that she's borrowed the book to read more of them!

I strongly recommend reading Winnie the Pooh (and sequels) aloud to a nearest-and-dearest. The older the better.

Yes! "I am the cat that walks by itself, and all places are alike to me."

Its that kind of reaching out that makes the job so worthwhile!

May I draw your attention to the following?

I know you said previously that either venue would do for you. There are likely to be less smokers at the Cambridge event and Dougs will be there. The party at my house will have more of the alternative types, plus possibly Heidi and Jess.

Megan told the Just So stories to Christine when she was a baby - being carried around Chester Zoo at the time!

By the time they left, there was a large group of mums and kids folloing them around :)
