I'm still bouncing...

micavity's temporary 'just until this crisis is over' job has become permanent and salaried because he's saving them lots of lovely money and has become indispensible.
I'm being very virtuous and not phoning his grandparents. I know they'll be delighted and I'll let him have that pleasure of telling them.
(Just in case any newcommers are wondering, this is my 'family' icon. The reference is to Kippling's poem, which essentially says the she-bear is deadly when anything threatens her cubs or her mate. http://www.potw.org/archive/potw96.html I love the poem dearly - I like most of Kipling's stuff. The man wrote about real people and he didn't use exotic language and he had a brilliant sense of scansion)
