Today - misc ups and downs.

Started the day feeling really crappy with the usual toothache Not an agonising pain, just a continuous ache that still left me feeling queasy even after a couple of paracetemol and an ibuproben.

Discovered [livejournal.com profile] micavity had goofed over something rather important and phoned him to tell him exactly what I thought of that. Being the incredibly nice son that he is, he instantly agreed that he'd goofed, said he'd be just as annoyed if he was me, promised to fix it and invited me to meet him for lunch tomorrow. I instantly agreed - seeing [livejournal.com profile] micavity (or [livejournal.com profile] exalted_mugwump or even [livejournal.com profile] waveney is always theraputic. Family is always good for me. There's three very nice men in my family and they all look after me when I'm feeling rotten.

Did some gardening. I got a batch of plants from http://www.naturescape.co.uk/ which arrived a couple of days ago. Some for me and some for the people next door. I've planted out the bulk of them now, but there's a few that need to go in an area of my garden that is currently rather overgrown. I cleared some of the area and planted a goldenrod and then retired as I wasn't feeling terribly good at all.

Went for a short walk and returned a library book (Sharpe's Rifles). When I've more energy, I'll do a post about the different approaches of the novels and the TV series.

After lunch, I pretty much collapsed for a while- watched the follow up to Jamie's School Dinners. (Sad to think that a qualified pub chef couldn't manage the hygene requirements required for cooking for schools...)

Had a chat with [livejournal.com profile] dougs which cheered me up enough to tackle a bit more of the garden. I'm also trying to clear the cinquefoil along the back path. http://altnature.com/gallery/Cinquefoil.htm (but no one in their right mind would ever deliberately plant this stuff. Once you've got it, you can never get rid of it)

[livejournal.com profile] waveney staggered back from helping [livejournal.com profile] kevinrtaylor move stuff out of storage and regaled me with tales of the bodge jobs done by the previous owner. He sounds even more useless than our former next-door neighbour - and he was a hard act to beat!

Now, if we're both awake enough, we'll play a board game of some sort. (memo to self - must find less happy -looking icon...)
