friends list

As I don't have time to read everyone I friend at present, I tend not to add new people to my friend's list very often.

However, my flist is also people who can read my more personal wibblings, so if I know who you are in real life and you actually want to read my friend-locked posts, then let me know and I may add you to the list. (just don't assume that I'll be reading your journal, unless it's a day when I have oddles of spare time and no health problems)

Personal posts tend to relate to real people - when I don't feel it's fair to pupils/neighbours/whatever to post public about them when other people might find it. It also occasionally includes more personal stuff.

We have met, albeit briefly, at various cons and I think you had the table next to ours at WorldCon 95 (if not, I've mistaken you for somebody other!). You know my husband better I think. John Philpott - or as most people know him, Grandad (ZZ9 fame). But entirely up to you whether you add me or not. I too don't get to read everybody's stuff all the time, so my responses tend to be somewhat erratic and spasmodic! *grin*

Well, smile, I was certainly on a con table at the Worldcon, though it's hard to recall who was next to us. I think it was Discworld on one side and Newcon on the other. Possibly... Which table were you on?

Anyway, I've added you to the friend's list.

I think we were on opposite sides of an aisle. So long ago I can't clearly recall. We were selling a variety of stuff - Egyptian figurines, fairies, tarot cards, t-shirts and assorted other bits and bobs.

Looking forward to your comments.

Nikkums here. :) I'm still planning to be at Redemption next year - if I can do anything to help in terms of programme then just let me know.

Hi. You're now friended.

What programme items would you be willing to offer for? If I recall correctly you're good for the hard sciences like astronomy. What specialist science/history areas would you be most interested in?

I always like the chance to do detailed science panels.

[identity profile] sharikkamur.livejournal.com 2006-09-05 02:44 pm (UTC)(link)
Indeed, I'm definitely a space science person. Given that NASA has just decided to call its new lunar programme Orion I could talk about the original Orion programme - the spaceship powered by nuclear explosions.

And/or I could do Wormhole Physics 101... that would seem to be appropriate for many of the themes.

I've put you down for talks for both of these. Do you require any tech?

[identity profile] sharikkamur.livejournal.com 2006-09-05 02:48 pm (UTC)(link)
I'll provide the computer but a projector would be really, really useful.

Death by Powerpoint! :)

Hi Nik, drop me an email with what sort of things you'd be willing to do. As usual at this stage, I've got tons of ideas for panels and things but not enough willing bodies to be on them.

[identity profile] sharikkamur.livejournal.com 2006-09-05 02:45 pm (UTC)(link)
Just count me in as a willing body. :) I do most things.

OK, will do

Hi

Not sure you could friend me even if you wanted to since I'm logging in with OpenID rather than having an actual livejournal. Feel free to try if you want to - without a blog I won't add to your reading time.

Hi, Bill!

Great to see you here. I tried to friend you, but I couldn't figure out a way to do it.

I think you click on the icon between "From:" and "dumain.com" to get to his user info page, and then click on the icon with a plus on it. Or try this direct link (http://www.livejournal.com/friends/add.bml?user=ext_9692).

I take it back, I think Alex just showed me how to add you correctly.

Welcome aboard.

We haven't met, the only way I know you is through buying B7 zines off you very intermittently. I enjoy reading your everyday life posts and we have some interests in common, gardening wildlife. But if you want to keep your list short I'm one of the ones you could cut.. I do not expect any one to read my babbling. I only have a lj so that I don't have to go searching for my flist ljs every time I want to catch up on them.

I'll add you do that you can read my bits. I feel I know you after so many years of zine-buying. I'll probably not read yours though.

With the number of mutual friends you have, that's understandable that you might not be able read everyone's comments even without the health problems.

Regards
Joanne from the Lyst (some of whose filks you approved enough of to put on your website)
